Meg Whitman Tapped as Chief Executive of Katzenberg’s WndrCo
Meg Whitman has been appointed chief executive of WndrCo, a startup backed by Jeffrey Katzenberg which aims to develop short-form premium content for watching on mobile phones, Variety reports. Whitman is a seasoned Silicon Valley mogul, with more than three decades of experience leading companies including Hewlett Packard and eBay.
Snap’s VP of Product to Leave Company
One of Snap Chief Executive Evan Spiegel’s top lieutenants Tom Conrad will leave Snapchat in March, roughly two years after he joined the company as vice president of product, TechCrunch reports. Snap’s director of growth Jacob Andreou, who reported to Conrad, will step into his role at an executive level, though no official new title has been assigned to him.
SpaceX Conducts Falcon Heavy Static Fire Test
SpaceX carried out a static fire test of the its first Falcon Heavy launch vehicle on Jan. 24, which the company’s founder, Elon Musk, said clears the way for its upcoming launch, SpaceNews reports. Observers of the test reported it lasting about 10 seconds. The company didn’t immediately release details about the test, including the precise length of the static fire and the performance of the 27 Merlin engines in the three boosters.
