Neural Analytics Raises $22 Million

Rancho Park-based medical robotics company Neural Analytics Inc. announced May 8 it raised a $22 million Series C round. The company was spun out of UCLA in 2013 and develops robotics technology to measure and track brain health in stroke victims, the Los Angeles Business Journal reports. Neural Analytics has raised $66 million to date, according to industry tracker PitchBook Data Inc.

Super League Gaming Partners With NetLevel

Santa Monica-based esports event organizer and match facilitator Super League Gaming Inc. has tripled its esports movie theater presence by partnering with NetLevel, which provides fiber optic networks to movie theaters so they can hold esports events. NetLevel works with roughly 4,000 theaters nationwide. Super League Gaming works with local theater chains like Cinemark to host esports tournaments and said the agreement helps it expand while “reducing its theater event-based operating expenses,” VentureBeat reports.

Match Group Gives Tinder Employees $9.4 Million in Stock

Match Group Inc., parent company of West Hollywood-headquartered dating app Tinder Inc., paid Tinder employees an additional $9.4 million in stock compensation this quarter. According to The Verge, the payments were because of Tinder’s rapid growth over the last year. Match Group Chief Financial Officer Gary Swidler announced the payments on a recent earnings call but declined to share specific payout details. Match Group is currently facing a $2 billion lawsuit from its co-founder Sean Rad, who alleges Match purposefully undervalued the company to avoid stock payouts such as this one.
