Hulu inks deal with Vice; CUJO AI lands Series B; Los Angeles to receive Verizon 5G before 2019.
Hulu has reached a deal with Vice Media that will bring 150 hours of original shows from the Viceland cable network to the internet-streaming service, Variety reports. The deal marks Vice’s first-ever subscription agreement for Viceland, and the first content-licensing deal between Hulu and Vice Media. The deal makes Los Angeles-based Hulu the exclusive home for Viceland’s shows.
El Segundo-based CUJO AI, a startup developing artificial intelligence software for detecting security attacks on consumer networking infrastructure, has raised a Series B funding round, Socaltech reports. The company put out a press release on May 18 which did not disclose the financial details. The round was led by Charter Communications, and will go towards further development of its technology.
Los Angeles to Receive Verizon 5G Before 2019
Verizon Chief Executive Lowell McAdam named Los Angeles as the second city that will receive its 5G rollout, Techcrunch reports. McAdam did not provide a specific date but said Los Angeles would be one of four cities to receive the services before 2019. Verizon originally listed Sacramento as the first city.
