Next Trucking hires new executives; Scoobez files for chapter 11 bankruptcy, SpaceX ISS launch delayed
Scoobeez Files For Chapter 11 Bankruptcy
Delivery and logistics services firm Scoobeez Global, filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy April 29, less than a month after announcing expansions into three locations in Texas. In a recent bankruptcy filing with the state, Scoobeez reported it has up to $50 million in liabilities and fewer than 50 creditors. The company could not immediately be reached for comment on the filing. On April 3, Scoobeez announced plans to expand into the greater Dallas area, marking its third nationwide office. The company still lists 11 planned expansions “coming soon” on its website.
Lynwood-based shipping logistics firm Next Trucking Inc. hired three new executives Tuesday, Socaltech reports. Led by Chief Executive Lidia Yan, Next hired Jim Patterson as chief product officer, Bobby Napiltonia as chief revenue officer, and Lyndal Larkin as head of people. The company also reported it plans to add more than 200 employees this year to its existing 100. Next Trucking has raised more than $125 million since its 2015 founding.
SpaceX’s Crew Dragon vehicle was scheduled to launch to the International Space Station for its 17th resupply mission to date, but NASA rescheduled the launch due to an ISS “power glitch,” MSN reports. No immediate concerns for the crew or the station arose during inspection but an issue was discovered on one of the main units that provides power to the ISS. Hawthorne-based SpaceX’s earliest possible launch opportunity is now May 3.
