SpaceX Set to Launch Hispasat 30W-6 Satellite

Hawthorne-based SpaceX announced it will launch the Hispasat 30W-6 satellite on March 6 at 12:33 a.m. EST, from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida, Spacenews360 reports. SpaceX originally planned to launch the satellite in February but faced a pressurization issue. The launch will be the largest, geostationary satellite the company has ever flown.

Miso Robotics Unleashes Burger Flipping Robot

Miso Robotics is officially putting Flippy, a burger-flipping robot, to work at Caliburger in Pasadena, Techcrunch reports. The robot, powered by artificial intelligence software, flips burgers, cooks them to order and removes them from the grill. Miso Robotics also announced a partnership to bring the product to sports and entertainment venues.

LA Tech Companies Raise $411 Million in February

Following a recording-setting January in which Los Angeles-based tech companies raised $800 million in capital, Silicon Beach companies raised $411 million in February, BuiltinLA reports. These figures mean 2018 is on pace to shatter numbers from 2017 and be the biggest funding year ever for Los Angeles tech companies. The companies that received the largest amounts in February were Leaf Group ($23.3M), Swell ($30M), Everipedia, Inc. ($30M), Fair.com ($50M), Zip Recruiter ($50M) and GOAT ($60M).
