MGM Brings Epix to More Devices

Beverly Hills-based film studio MGM Holdings Inc. is bringing its movie streaming service Epix to Amazon.com Inc.’s Fire TV and Roku televisions. MGM acquired Epix in 2017 for $1 billion and re-launched the service in February. The Verge reports Apple Inc. will integrate Epix into its Apple TV channels, slated to launch in May. MGM paid $1 billion to acquire Epix in 2017.

SpaceX Broadcasts Falcon Launch

A recently updated page of Hawthorne-based SpaceX’s website shows video of its Falcon 9 rocket launching and landing, ArsTechnica reports. The video offers close-ups of the rocket landing legs deploying, and its engines re-lighting themselves in preparation for landing.

Sinemia Cancels User Accounts, Citing “Misuse”

TechCrunch reports MoviePass Inc. rival and movie ticket subscription platform Sinemia Inc. has inactivated or canceled several user accounts. The Fairfax-based firm said in a statement it was removing a “small number” of user accounts to combat fraud and would refund anyone mistakenly affected. Sinemia also announced a new subscription, a $15 monthly rate that allows the user to see one movie per day.
