Snapchat Users Can Now Buy Tickets In-App

Silicon Beach social media app company Snap Inc. revealed a new ticket-purchasing option embedded in its Snapchat app that allows users to buy tickets to nearby events, Techcrunch reports. The new feature is a collaborative effort with New York-based ticket seller SeatGeek and its first event partner, the Los Angeles Football Club., which sold passes to a game via the new feature in late May.

Insomniac Games Renews Oculus Partnership

Burbank’s Insomniac Games recently broadcast the trailer for its latest gaming project, a VR collaboration with Oculus entitled “Stormland,” Engadget reports. Insomniac, known for its “Spider-Man” video games and the “Resistance” trilogy for Sony’s Playstation 3 console, worked with Oculus on two previous projects, but this appears to be the largest open-world VR game they have produced so far.

Jessica Alba’s Honest Company Gets $200 Million Investments

The Los Angeles Business Journal reports online health and baby retailer Honest Company Inc. received June 6 a $200 million investment from private equity firm L Catterton. Honest Co. will use the funds to increase its foothold in Europe, the company said, but could also use some of the funds to pay off a $7.35 million lawsuit it settled in June 2017 for alleged fraudulent marketing.
