Clearlake Capital-Backed Healthcare Software Makes Acquisition
Symplr, a healthcare technology firm based in Houston and acquired by Santa Monica-based venture firm Clearlake Capital in December, announced Feb. 20 it acquired healthcare human management software developer API Healthcare, the Business Journal reports.
Clutter Nets $200 Million From SoftBank
SoftBank’s Vision Fund contributed $200 million to Clutter, an on-demand storage company based in Culver City. The Business Journal reports the funding will help Clutter expand into the Sacramento, Portland and Philadelphia markets. Following this funding round, Clutter’s total capital raised stands at $297 million.
Snap Spin-Off Emerges From Stealth
Former Snap Inc. Chief Strategy Officer Imran Khan revealed his new online commerce startup Feb. 19, which he named Verishop and says will go “head to head” with Amazon.com Inc. Khan’s new venture is bankrolled with $17.5 million from Menlo Park-based Lightspeed Venture Partners. Business Insider reports after stepping down from Snap in Sept. 2018, Khan teased the venture, which he said would target millennial shoppers and brands who seek their buying power.
