Newegg to sponsor Counter Logic Gaming; Casetabs gains $2.5 million; HauteLook customer data compromised

Hackers Target HauteLook

Roughly 617 million online account details of users on 16 different sites have been published for sale on the dark web, including users of downtown-based internet fashion retailer HauteLook Inc., which is owned by Nordstrom Inc. Forbes reports the details of 28 million HauteLook customers are for sale, and advises potentially compromised users to change their passwords as soon as possible and activate two-factor authentication on accounts. HauteLook has not yet commented on the breach.

Counter Logic Gaming Chooses Newegg as Sponsor

City of Industry-based online computer components retailer Newegg Inc. will sponsor e-sports organization Counter Logic Gaming, according to reporting from the E-sports Observer. Operating in Detroit, Counter Logic Gaming oversees several e-sports competitive leagues, and the Newegg logo will be featured on the jerseys of its “Fortnite” e-sports team. Additionally, Newegg was named the team’s official online technology retail partner.

Casetabs Raises $2.5 Million

A digital health firm in West Los Angeles formerly known as MedPassage Inc. but now doing business as Casetabs Inc. has raised $2.5 million. The Business Journal reports Casetabs develops cloud-based surgery coordination and communication platforms for hospitals and surgery centers, and had previously raised $10.9 million in two funding rounds from investors including Evolution Financial Group and Nuterra Capital.
