Sensay Raises $4.5 Million
Advice network Sensay of Venice has raised $4.5 million in a seed round led by Norwest Venture Partners, reports TechCrunch. The messaging platform allows users to a pose a question to a chat bot, which then goes and finds other users who might have an answer.
Time Warner Purchases 10 Percent of Hulu
Time Warner purchased a 10 percent stake in Hulu of Santa Monica for $583 million, valuing the streaming television platform at $5.8 billion, reports the Hollywood Reporter. Time Warner joins the company’s other stake holders NBCUniversal, Walt Disney Co. and 21st Century Fox, who each own 10 percent.
Machinima Coming to Amazon Prime
Machinima is coming to Amazon Prime Video as an add-on subscription service, reports Variety. The company also reached a deal with British satellite broadcaster Sky, under which Machinima content is now available on Sky Q, an ad-supported digital video-on-demand service.
Drone Education Faltering in Los Angeles
Drones around Los Angeles continue to fly above wildfires when firefighting aircraft are making water drops, forcing them to abort missions, reports the Los Angeles Daily News. In response the state legislature is looking at a bill requiring drones to be fitted with automatic shut-off technology.
