Appetize Joins Forces With Sidearm Sports
Santa Monica-headquartered developer of mobile point-of-sale systems Appetize Technologies announced Aug. 23 it will allow Sidearm Sports Inc. to access its API. By linking with Appetize, Sidearm will allow fans to select menu items for sale, checkout and select their seats. The first client to utilize this system is the University of North Carolina, according to Socaltech.
Net Neutrality Bill Passes Assembly Committee
ArsTechnica reports that a California state net neutrality bill described by some as the most vigorous in the country was approved yesterday by the state Assembly’s Communications and Conveyance Committee. Now, the bill will be sent to the Assembly for a vote next week. The bill was approved by the state Senate in May, and was approved with ‘all key provisions intact,’ according to its main sponsor, Democratic Senator Scott Wiener.
Overwatch League Coming to Twitter
Twitter Inc. and Activision Blizzard Inc.’s e-sports Overwatch League sealed a deal recently which will bring real-time highlights and match clips of Overwatch competitions to Twitter. Engadget reports Twitter will also host a weekly show previewing matches called “Watchpoint.”
