Giftfund: Money-pooling app Giftfund of Calabasas has launched. The app has a catalog of retail items listed for sale and allows users to pool money for items that they want to buy jointly for their friends.
Zefr: YouTube video and music copyright management firm Zefr of Venice has launched BrandID Suite, analytics tools that help advertisers visualize the content available on YouTube. The analytics tool combs through YouTube and categorizes videos so brands can find the right content to buy advertisements against.
Gamblit Gaming: Online mobile gaming company Gamblit Gaming of Glendale will be adding gambling features to mobile game Catapult King. The title, which has been downloaded 27 million times, is developed by Australian gaming studio Wicked Witch Software. Gamblit’s technology will now allows users to bet money on different challenges throughout the Catapult King game.
Incentive: Cloud-based collaboration platform Incentive of Playa Vista launched apps on iOS, Android, Windows, Mac and Chrome. The software allows remote teams to collaborate on projects, jointly update internal processes and share documents.
JumpStart: Learning-based games company JumpStart of Torrance launched mobile game Magic & Mythies. The game teaches children aged 8 and up about nature conservation and ecology.
IRise: El Segundo’s iRise has launched a software prototyping service. The service will turn a rough idea or specification document into a real software prototype that can be tested in the cloud with real users, accelerating time to market for new apps.
GumGum: In-image advertising company GumGum of Santa Monica will begin selling its inventory on ad-buying platform TradeDesk. GumGum’s technology identifies the content of editorial images and then overlays related advertisements.
