GrubHub: Restaurant delivery service GrubHub of Chicago has expanded its service in launching in Los Angeles. The company said it is already providing service for more than 300 restaurants and is a good fit for restaurant owners who prefer not to manage their own delivery operations.
TeleSign: Marina Del Rey’s TeleSign has partnered with BehavioSec of Sweden to use behavioral biometrics to identify mobile users. The user identification software company will use the technology to secure accounts and prevent fraud.
Esri: Digital mapping company Esri of Redlands launched ArcGIS Earth, a desktop-based competitor to Google Earth. ArcGIS Earth allows users to display data, sketch place marks, measure distances and areas, and add annotations to understand spatial information.
Jaunt: Virtual reality company Jaunt of Palo Alto is launching a virtual reality studio with USC’s School of Cinematic Arts. As part of the three-year program, Jaunt will loan virtual reality cameras to USC along with production and playback software. USC and its faculty will also partner with Jaunt on future research, development projects and internships.
Tongal: Crowdsource advertising agency Tongal of Santa Monica has signed a partnership with United Talent Agency. UTA will help develop deeper relationships between Tongal and studios, networks, digital publishers, advertising agencies and brand marketers. UTA will also expand Tongal’s offerings by bringing more traditional talent into Tongal’s network.
