Helpr: Santa Monica babysitter on-demand app Helpr has launched. Babysitters in Helpr’s network are interviewed, background checked and trained in CPR. The company also works with corporations to facilitate childcare for their employees.

Voter: Santa Monica voter-to-candidate matching app Voter launched. The app uses a Tinder-like swipe interface to help voters match with 2016 Presidential candidates using objective points such as voting records and speech tickers.

Totum Wealth: Beverly Hills company Totum Wealth has launched a wealth analysis tool. The software helps financial advisors analyze client wealth and financial goals and then makes investment recommendations.

RadPad: Venice’s online apartment listing service Radpad signed a deal with MasterCard to reduce the transaction fee its customers pay when they use RadPad to pay rent. MasterCard holders will now pay a 1.99 percent transaction fee opposed to the typical 3.49 percent fee. RadPad also announced it had processed $40 million in debit card and credit card payments last year.

USC: The university’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, and Viterbi School of Engineering have launched a new joint degree. The Master of Communication Informatics degree will teach students skills related to data analytics, virtual reality, augmented reality, crowdsourcing and social media.

Gobble: Palo Alto dinner kit delivery service Gobble launched in Los Angeles. The company sends subscribers packaged ingredients and instructions to make meals in under 10 minutes.
