Tinder Chief Executive Sean Rad will step down from his role as the company’s chief executive to lead Swipe Ventures, a Match Group accelerator and acquisition vehicle.
Rad will become chairman of Tinder and Swipe Ventures. Greg Blatt, the current chairman of Tinder, will assume the role of Tinder’s chief executive, while continuing to serve as chairman and chief executive of Match Group.
“There is so much untapped opportunity in our space,” said Rad, in a statement. “My new role allows me to continue to contribute meaningfully to the overall strategy of Tinder, while expanding Tinder’s footprint through Swipe Ventures.”
Tinder’s recent acquisitions include Tappy and Humin, as well as an investment in social app Hey! Vina.
Rad previously stepped down from the role of chief executive in 2014 in the wake of his handling of a sexual harassment lawsuit filed by co-founder Whitney Wolfe against fellow co-founder Justin Mateen. The company later rehired Rad as its chief executive in 2015.
