Apartment listing service RadPad Inc. has added short-term apartment rentals to its platform.
The listing service will now facilitate weekly and month-to-month apartment and room rentals. RadPad will also show short-term rental listings from online rental companies onefinestay and HomeSuite on its platform.
“This does not mean we’re competing with Airbnb and we have no plans to go head-to-head against them,” wrote Chief Executive Jonathan Eppers in a blog post. “While Airbnb focuses on travelers, we’re focused on renters — which is a distinctly unique but growing subset of the rental market.”
RadPad also announced Monday that it is changing its business model from a lead-generation business for landlords into a transaction-based business model that will charge renters to submit rental applications. For $30, renters can apply to as many apartments as they want and will be able to send landlords their income statement, a TransUnion credit report, criminal background check, eviction screening report and rental history.
RadPad will also start charging landlords $25 a listing for a new feature that automatically searches through apartment applications for renters that fit their pre-set qualifications.
