Several Los Angeles multi-channel networks are joining the Global Online Video Association, a newly formed nonprofit trade group that aims bring more advertisers to online video.

Culver City’s Maker Studios Inc., Fullscreen Inc. and Beverly Hills’ Collective Digital Studios are among some of the networks working with GOVA, according to AdWeek.

Paul Kontonis, senior vice president of strategy and sales at Collective Digital, will serve as the executive director of the association. Kontonis was also a chairman with the International Academy of Web Television.

“All these companies were formerly defined by just having a bunch of channels on YouTube, and it was about aggregating views and prerolls,” Kontonis told AdWeek. “Now, they’ve all become major digital media companies. They all have interest in bringing dollars and attention to the space. And they need a group like GOVA to protect their interests.”
