Culver City’s MiTú, a Latino YouTube network, has partnered with Mexican media giant Televisa to create original content for the Web in both Spanish and English.
Two-year-old MiTú began producing lifestyle content a year ago and has already surpassed 1 billion total views. The multichannel network has 43 million global subscribers and 1,300 partner channels.
“The Televisa/MiTú partnership marks a new ‘power couple’ in town, as we work together to create compelling new content and break-out Latino stars that will resonate among today’s English- and Spanish-speaking millennials,” Beatriz Acevedo, president and co-founder of MiTú, said in a statement.
In June, Upfront Ventures led MiTú’s $10 million Series B funding round. Other investors include Chernin Group and Allen DeBevoise, co-founder of Machinima Inc.
MiTú also has a syndication deal with Univision Communications to distribute short-form content for the network’s programs.
