TigerText: Santa Monica’s TigerText launched an Apple Watch messaging app. The company, which specializes in secure, self-destructing digital messaging for the medical industry, believes the app will help users save time, “especially in critical care settings.” Users can also use the app to dictate speech into text messages.
Fliptu: L.A.’s Fliptu, an online platform that collects and displays multiple social media streams at once on websites, launched publicly after private testing and announced it raised a $1.2 million seed investment. The company said its platform gets more exposure and engagement for client’s social media campaigns and websites.
Bitium: Password and application access management platform Bitium of Santa Monica launched within Google’s app store, Google Play. The company said Bitium’s addition to the app store will allow IT administrators to manage Google business app users and groups in one place, while monitoring security and usage.
Tinder: West Hollywood dating app Tinder has launched an embeddable Instagram feed feature. The new feature allows users to link to their Instagram feeds, greatly expanding the number of pictures that can be viewed in a profile. The app update also includes a new feature letting prospective matches know how many Facebook friends they have in common.
Rubicon Project: Online advertising marketplace the Rubicon Project of Playa Vista launched a demand-side platform (DSP) builder and a second-generation high-frequency cloud (HFC2). The DSP builder helps marketers create their own digital ad-buying software. The HFC2 is a cloud-based digital advertising processing system that is faster, can handle higher volumes and greater complexity than before.
