Kin, which offers women’s lifestyle video content, has closed a $12 million Series C round, bringing its total funding to date to $27 million.

The money will be used to acquire online talent, expand its ad team and develop original programming for its multichannel networks. Its female-focused YouTube channel, Kin Community, has helped the Santa Monica company bring in more than 25 million unique monthly visitors and log more than 207 million video views a month.

The investment was led by Corus Entertainment with support from Emil Capital. Other investors included Mayfield Fund, General Catalyst Partners and Rustic Canyon Partners.

“This new round of funding will further accelerate our vision to be the global leader in lifestyle by empowering the best lifestyle creators,” said co-founder and Chief Executive Michael Wayne in a statement. “We’re thrilled that Corus recognizes the unique value Kin Community brings creators, brands and consumers as a lifestyle platform, and we are looking forward to working with them as a partner.”
