J2 Global has acquired a United Kingdom email security company to grow its customer base and technical team in Europe.
The Hollywood Internet company announced Thursday that is has purchased EPA Cloud, which provides secure email services such as email hosting and archiving. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“This acquisition reflects our continued interest in the email security and management space and our commitment to growing this business globally,” J2 Chief Executive Hemi Zucker said in a statement.
J2 started as an e-fax company but has since branched into other Internet services and media.
The company will report second quarter earnings on November 5.
J2 shares closed up 3 cents, or less than 1 percent, to $54.98 on the Nasdaq.
