Santa Monica video streaming platform Hulu continues to add experienced executives to the company, naming Tim Connolly as its new head of distribution.
Connolly worked for Walt Disney Co. as vice president of digital video distribution and new product development during his eight years there. Before that, he worked at Ericsson.
“Finding ways to penetrate new distribution channels is key to our future growth,” Hulu Chief Executive Mike Hopkins said in a blog post. “Tim’s wealth of experience and passion for Hulu will be instrumental as we continue to grow our subscriber base and roll out Hulu Plus across even more devices and with more distribution partners.”
The hire comes after Hulu brought on former Microsoft executive Tian Lim as CTO in February.
Hulu is owned jointly by 21st Century Fox, Walt Disney Co. and NBCUniversal. The companies invested $750 million in the platform last year, ending rumors that it would be sold.
