Messaging system developer mPulse Mobile of Encino has raised a $10 million Series A Round.
MPulse automates patient and healthcare provider communications over SMS, in-app messaging and emails. The Series A funding will be used to enhance analytical capabilities of mPulse’s software.
MPulse’s messaging software mimics the way humans communicate and is used to notify patients of appointments, for example, said Chief Executive Chris Nicholson.
“We take the natural way people communicate and have a dialog with them using the machine,” he said. “The more relevant the messaging, the more engagement we will get.”
The company counts Kaiser Permanente, UCLA Health and Humana Inc. as customers.
MPulse was founded last year and previously had raised $350,000 in seed funding. The Series A Round was led by HLM Venture Partners with previous investors OCA Ventures, Merrick Ventures and Jumpstart Ventures participating.
