Jon Goldman, a venture partner at downtown’s Greycroft Ventures, has closed $15.6 million in investment commitments for a new fund looking to back companies in the virtual reality, augmented reality and e-sports industries.
The GC VR Gaming Tracker Fund has already made more than 20 investments ranging from $50,000 to $500,000 each in seed-stage companies, according to a press release.
Greycroft Ventures is participating as a limited partner and business partner. Goldman, who is also a managing partner for Skybound, the intellectual property holder of “The Walking Dead” franchise, will manage the fund and retain his role at Greycroft.
