General Assembly Announces Second Los Angeles Campus

General Assembly, an educational startup that offers tech courses, said it would open its second Los Angeles campus later this year in downtown’s Arts District. The New York company opened a campus in Santa Monica in 2012.

The downtown location will offer full- and part-time programming in Web development, user experience design, digital marketing, data science and more.

“Los Angeles is a dynamic and expansive city with a thriving technology economy and a need for people who have technology knowledge and skills,” Regional Director S. Ryan Meyer said in a statement. “We are expanding that to serve the broader geographic area.”

GA announced earlier this year a $35 million Series C round that brought its total funding to $49.3 million. That round was led by Institutional Venture Partners with participating investors GSV Capital, Rethink Education, Maveron and Western Technology Investment.
