Online movie ticket seller Fandango announced that it acquired Culver City video-streaming service MediaNaviCo, known as M-Go, late on Friday.

The purchase is part of Fandango’s plan to package movie tickets with an option to buy a digital copy of the movie upon release. Fandango’s parent company, Comcast, also has robust content-streaming capabilities through its online platform Xfinity.

Fandango also said it would use M-Go’s video-streaming platform as part of its product research and development efforts.

M-Go was launched in 2012 as a joint venture between Technicolor Corp. of France and DreamWorks Animation Inc. of Glendale.

Fandango also said in its press release that the company’s ticketing revenue increased by 81 percent last year compared to 2014.
