Biofuels developer OriginOil Inc. announced a deal with a large waste water treatment systems provider that will distribute OriginOil’s systems to the new partner’s customers.
Los Angeles-based OriginOil, which has technology to extract oil from algae, said the agreement with Oklahoma City-based World Water Works Inc. is its first major distribution deal.
“We see potential opportunities for (OriginOil’s) technology in traditional waste water treatment settings,” World Water Works President Mark Fosshage said in a statement.
The agreement covers product integration, manufacturing and joint marketing.
“World Water Works is an innovative company with a first-class manufacturing facility in Oklahoma City,” OriginOil Chief Executive Riggs Eckelberry said in a statement. “This is a major first step in our plan to integrate the algae production process for our customers.”
