Derycz Scientific Inc. on Monday said that it has changed its name to Research Solutions Inc.

The Los Angeles research information company said the name change better reflects the company’s focus.

The new name “strengthens our brand identity,” Chief Executive Peter Derycz said in a statement. “Life sciences companies, for example, rely on (our products) to develop innovative new health care products to diagnosis, treat, and prevent disease, illness, injury, and other impairments.”

The company’s new ticker symbol on the Over-the-Counter Bulletin Board is now RSSS. Shares closed up 21 cents, to 19 percent, to $1.29.
