Blue Software Acquired By Esko

Packaging design software company Esko-Graphics Inc., a subsidiary of the Danaher Corp. has bought Blue Software, an artwork management software firm, from Westwood-based Diversis Capital.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Esko-Graphics president Udo Panenka said the company is “relentlessly seeking to reduce time to market, cost and quality risk in the end-to-end packaging value chain. The acquisition of BLUE enhances Esko’s unique set of tools to enable brand owners and their partners to improve all three.”

Diversis bought Design2Launch Solutions Inc., a graphic management software company and former holding of the Kodak Corp. while it owned Blue Software. Now, Esko-Graphics has access to those resources as it continues work in the consumer packaged goods industry.

“We are pleased with this transaction, which is the first realization from Diversis’ portfolio of companies,” said Kevin Ma, co-founder of Diversis Capital. “After just three and a half years, this transaction is a very strong result for our investors and validates our deeply integrated operational approach to investing,” Ma added.

In total, Esko-Graphics employs roughly 1,800 people across the globe, overseen from its headquarters in Belgium. Diversis Capital gained ownership of Blue Software in 2014.
