Amazon.com Inc. is said to be meeting with companies that produce virtual reality content. Its Playa Vista-based Amazon Studios is also hiring software developers to create a virtual reality platform within the company’s online video platform.
The discussions, first reported by The Wrap, are said to be in the early stages, but they underline the Seattle firm’s interest in producing virtual reality content for its Amazon Prime audience. Amazon Studios has produced original TV shows such as “Transparent” and “The Man in the High Castle.”
