The hotel sector is in some ways a barometer of the health of the economy. When people have disposable income, they travel, and they then need places to stay. Today’s interest rates, combined with an uncertain economic outlook, have put a strain on hotel construction in Los Angeles. While some projects have recently been completed, the ones now underway are smaller than in the past.
