It’s been another busy year for pop superstar Beyonce Knowles-Carter and her husband Jay-Z Carter. Knowles-Carter released her album “Cowboy Carter” on March 29 to critical acclaim but she has yet to take the project on tour (even if fans are begging for one). She also dropped a liquor brand, SIRDavis, in August under the LVMH liquor company, the same one that netted Jay-Z a combined $1.3 billion from the sales of his D’USSÉ Cognac and Armand de Brignac liquors. While Knowles-Carter spent the majority of 2024 in the public eye promoting her newest sonic project, Carter’s business dealings were more under the radar. The rapper became hip-hop’s first billionaire in 2019 and hasn’t slowed down since then, investing in numerous high-profile tech companies, including Uber, which went public at an $8.1 billion valuation in 2019. Jay-Z also could have financially benefited from a merger last year: The Parent Co., a publicly-traded holding company for various cannabis enterprises including his weed brand Monogram, merged with cannabis company Gold Flora. Carter previously had a five-year brand deal with TPCO through 2025 worth $38.5 million, and if that was terminated because of the merger he could make more money, up to an additional $18.5 million. But, since it’s unclear if that deal was voided because of the merger.

Education: Both of the Carters did not attend college.

Charitable Giving (Beyonce): Beyonce launched her BeyGood public charity foundation in 2013.

Charitable Giving (Jay-Z): Jay-Z’s Shawn Carter Foundation, which offers scholarships to underprivileged youth, launched in 2004.
