THE MONEY: Roski Jr. is the president and chair of Majestic Realty, which was founded by his father in 1948. The company is one of the oldest and largest privately held industrial developers in the country and has a diverse, 87-million-square-foot portfolio. Roski’s wealth has increased dramatically over the last few years, largely due to his investments, including his 3% ownership stake in the Los Angeles Lakers. The team is valued at $6.44 billion, making it the third most-valued franchise in the NBA. Roski also owns a 10% stake in the NHL’s Los Angeles Kings, a franchise valued at $1.39 billion. In addition, he helped finance the Crypto.com Arena, formerly known as the Staples Center, at which both teams play.
THE BUZZ: Over the last year, Majestic Realty has continued its nationwide expansion with the purchase of multiple enormous industrial development facilities in California and Arizona. Roski was an officer in the Marine Corps in the 1960s; he earned a Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts. In 2018, he was awarded the Circle of Honor Award from the Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation. Founded in 2002, the Majestic Realty Foundation invests in youth, education, family, health and violence prevention. Roski serves on the board of USC, his alma mater, and is on the boards of the Bowers Museum and the National Geographic Society. Roski has completed numerous mountain climbing and deep-sea diving expeditions across the globe, and in 2008 participated in a descent to the Titanic wreckage.
