THE MONEY: Snyder-Ellingson hasn’t tinkered with success since inheriting the private In-N-Out Burger restaurants in 2017. The independent quick-service-restaurant chain enjoys a cult following for its high-quality meals by quick-service standards and, behind-the-scenes, a very loyal workforce — employees are paid above industry norms. The fast-food chain has 379 locations and more than 27,000 employees across California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Texas, Oregon and Colorado, and has announced plans to expand to Idaho. No restaurants are franchised. In-N-Out locations generate more than $1 billion revenue annually, according to several estimates.

THE BUZZ: In February, Snyder-Ellingson received the Los Angeles Business Journal award for CEO of the Year as part of the Women’s Business Leadership awards. The fast-food restaurant chain was founded in 1948 by Snyder-Ellingson’s paternal grandparents, Harry and Esther Snyder. In-N-Out is credited as California’s first drive-through hamburger stand and started in Baldwin Park, where it is headquartered today (with a large office in Irvine as well). In December, Snyder-Ellingson sold her 11-bedroom gated mansion in Bradbury Estates for $16.3 m ill ion.
