THE MONEY: Filmmaker Spielberg’s fortune comes from three main categories: an estimated $2.9 billion worth of income he has accumulated from various fees and projects since 1974, the year before “Jaws” launched him as a blockbuster director; an in-perpetuity consulting deal with Universal Studios theme parks that is valued at an estimated $1.3 billion; and his stake in Amblin Partners, a content and entertainment production company for which he serves as chairman and chief executive. Amblin Partners develops and produces films under the Amblin, DreamWorks and Participant imprints.

THE BUZZ: Steven Spielberg is working on a film called “The Fabelmans,” scheduled for release in November. In December, Spielberg’s released his latest film, a remake of the 1961 musical “West Side Story.” In February it was reported that “Ford vs. Ferrari” director James Mangold is in talks to direct “Indiana Jones 5,” the next installment of the “Indiana Jones” franchise, which has earned box office revenue of almost $2 billion worldwide.
