Co-Founder and Chief Executive, StartEngine

Prior to co-founding equity crowdfunding platform StartEngine in 2015, Marks was chief executive of Acclaim Games, now part of Walt Disney Co., and co-founded Activision Blizzard with Bobby Kotick. He was the chair of Activision Studios from 1991 to 1997. Activision, known for games such as “Call of Duty” and “Guitar Hero,” had an enterprise valuation of over $58 billion in April. StartEngine helped tech startups raise over $189 million last year and acquired rival platform SeedInvest in the fall for a reported $24 million. Marks was a member of then-Mayor Eric Garcetti’s technology council and received the Treasure of Los Angeles award in 2015.
