Luxury home designer and developer Gillen officially launched the Malibu-based brokerage Unvarnished Co. in 2020. Gillen began his career as a stunt driver for “The Dukes of Hazzard” when he was a teenager. He then made a name for himself as a director of automobile commercials, purchasing his first house in Venice Beach while on a brief hiatus. After a complete renovation, he listed the home, which sold within an hour, inspiring him to start Unvarnished. The company exclusively lists his creations. Among them, The Malibu Series, which includes the oceanfront five-bedroom Case No. 2, with its 132-foot long infinity pool, which made its debut on the market at $100 million.
