Under Whitesell, a steady stream of acquisitions was capped by the seismic agreement to merge the company’s mixed martial arts UFC with World Wrestling Entertainment. Whitesell helped guide the purchase of content/gambling services platform OpenBet in September for approximately $800 million. Other mergers and acquisitions worked by Whitesell in the past year include buying a majority in collectible car auctioneer Barrett-Jackson and consolidating ownership of sports event hospitality On Location and separately Endeavor China. His clients include Ben Affleck, Christian Bale, Matt Damon, Gal Gadot, Jake Gyllenhaal, Hugh Jackman, Michael B. Jordan, John Krasinski, Ryan Reynolds and Denzel Washington.
