Chen took the reins of the electric vehicle maker in November, succeeding Carsten Breitfeld, who was removed by the board. Chen, who served as Faraday Future’s CEO for the China region since March 2021, previously held leadership roles at Chery Jaguar Land Rover Automobile Co., a joint venture between the British carmaker Jaguar Land Rover and Chinese auto manufacturer Chery Automobile. Chen also served as project director at Changan Ford Mazda Co. from October 2009 to January 2013 and as senior manager of the B2e Platform Project (Ford Mazda’s economic car platform) from April 2005 to October 2009. At Faraday Future, Chen is tasked with delivering the FF 91 Futurist to market.
