Loyola Marymount University, President
Snyder joined Loyola Marymount University as its 16th president in 2015. The Jesuit university was founded as Los Angeles College in 1911; in 1973 it merged with Marymount College and took its current name. The school is ranked 77th among national universities by U.S. News & World Report and ranks No. 8 in the “Top Green Colleges” by Princeton Review for the campus’s commitment to sustainability. The university has 7,100 undergraduates, 1,700 graduates and 1,100 law students. Previously, Snyder served as vice president for academic affairs at Loyola University Maryland. He earned his M.A. and his Ph.D. in applied and computational mathematics from Princeton University.
