Chief Executive, Moffatt & Nichol

The Long Beach-based firm in January acquired architecture firm
Waggonner & Ball and will collaborate on projects with the New Orleans
company. Since taking the reins as chief executive in 2006, Nichol
has helped the company more than double in size. The firm has
worked on Phase 2 of the Wharf Development Project in Washington,
D.C., serving as maritime engineer for the mile-long project. The company
received the grand prize at the Georgia Transportation Summit
for its Mason Mega Rail project at the Port of Savannah, in Georgia.
Nichol was elected to the National Academy of Construction and also
has served on the dean’s advisory council for the engineering department
at California State University – Long Beach.
