In her second year in this position after two years as the chief executive
of Metrolink and a 10-year-run prior to that at LA MTA, Wiggins said
recently that her goal is to pivot from pandemic recovery to growth by
“dealing with the challenges that nearly 100 years of decisions about
mobility have wrought the Southern California region.” Her “Putting
People First” initiative seeks a better customer experience and a system
that meets riders’ needs. Wiggins manages a budget of about $7
billion, oversees up to $20 billion in capital construction projects and
leads an agency with 11,000 employees.
