Lansing founded the Sherry Lansing Foundation in 2005, a nonprofit
dedicated to cancer research, public education and career opportunities.
Lansing has served on several boards and in January was named
chair of Universal Music Group. She is a co-founder of the Stand
Up to Cancer initiative. During her decades in the motion picture business,
Lansing was involved in the production of more than 200 films,
including Academy Award winners “Forrest Gump,” “Braveheart” and
“Titanic.” She was the chief executive of Paramount Pictures and president
of production at 20th Century Fox. In 2005, she became the first
female movie studio head to place handprints and footprints at Grauman’s
Chinese Theater.
