Etienne formerly managed Team SoloMid’s squad of pro gamers before co-founding Cloud9 in 2012 with his wife, Pauline. The company is now among the most valuable and influential businesses in esports, with more than a dozen teams competing in multiple esports. Cloud9 has been the trendsetter in the industry; it was among the first esports organizations to offer players conventional salaries and health benefits and in 2020 unveiled an innovative membership program for super-fans. In February, Cloud9 announced a new sponsorship deal partnership with cryptocurrency exchange Bloackchain.com.
