Tutor has served as chairman of the Sylmar-based civil construction company since 1999 and as chief executive since 2000. Tutor Perini has dealt with some challenges recently. It was recently stalled on construction of the Purple Line due to the death of a construction worker. In Fresno, the company’s high-speed rail project is also facing major delays. He holds a BS in finance from USC, he on the Board of Trustees at the university and helped fund two buildings at the USC Viterbi School of Engineering.
