Wiggins in April 2021 was chosen to lead the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority. Her first task last June was to lure riders back to the agency’s fleet of 2,200 buses and six rail lines after the Covid-19 pandemic. Last the $900 million Airport Connector project. As Metro CEO, Wiggins manages a budget of about $7 billion, oversee up to $20 billion in capital constuction projects and lead an agency with 11,000 employees.
