Chairman, Los Angeles Chargers
As long as his NFL team shares the home turf at SoFi Stadium and keeps quarterback Justin Herbert as its star attraction, Spanos, 71, has a franchise that continues to increase in value – up to an estimated $2.9 billion, up from $2.2 billion in 2018. His latest project is coordinating a new training facility (estimated cost at more than $100 million) in El Segundo that breaks ground soon. He and his wife Susie were honored with the Make-A-Wish Ambassador of Hope Award from Make-A-Wish OC and Make-A-Wish L.A. in December. Spanos continues to head the family-owned organization with the help of sons John (president of football operations) and A.G. (president of business operations).
