Cushman is a world-renowned leader in real estate and the grandson of Cushman and Wakefield’s founder. Cushman, who has been in the business for more than 50 years, is chairman of global transactions where he leads strategic policies and initiatives for the brokerage. Cushman began his career with Cushman and Wakefield in 1963 in New York. In 1967, he moved to Los Angeles to open the company’s first office in Southern California. John Cushman and his twin, Louis Cushman, started their own firm in 1978 called Cushman Realty Corp. It grew to more than 2,000 employees before merging with Cushman and Wakefield Inc. in 2001. In 2015, the company merged with DTZ.
