The company, in September, was chosen as the design builder of a $14 million, 10,000 square-foot Child Development Academic Facility at Pierce College in Woodland Hills. Within the past year, the firm also completed construction on a five-story mixed-use complex in the Sawtelle district. Summers joined Boston-based Suffolk Construction in December as the general manager of the Los Angeles office. Summers previously spent 24 years in various executive posts at the Southern California office of San Francisco-based Webcor Builders Inc. Among the projects he oversaw were the W Hollywood hotel, Greenland USA’s Metropolis project downtown and the New Century Plaza condo towers in Century City.
