Last December, then-Executive Vice President of Operations Powell succeeded Kevin Payne – who stepped down after a 35-year carerr at the utility – as the company’s leader. In his previous role, Powell led many of SCE’s operations groups, including Transmission and Distribution, Customer Service, Safety, Security, and Business Resiliency, and Operational Services. Powell, who joined the company in 2000, has also held leadership positions in resource planning and strategy, gas and power procurement and SCE’s plug-in electric vehicle readiness efforts. He has a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from University of California Los Angeles and received his MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management.
